Welcome to London!
'When a man is tired of London, he is tired of life; for there is in London all that life can afford',
declared infamously Samuel Johnson. And he was right! London as no other city comprises so much diversity it can satisfy anybody's taste.
Over the years, London has grown from a small market on the north bank of the river Thames, to one of the largest and best loved cities in the world. While many things have changed over time, you will still find that Big Ben chimes every half hour, the changing of the Guards continues to take place at Buckingham Palace.
Loud or quiet? Old or modern? A family visit or a romantic getaway?
London is a chameleon.
Discover the world’s greatest attractions, sensational sightseeing.
It is a place of attractions where reality and imagination intertwine, so… the only question is - how would you like it to be?
The architecture is well preserved - there are many houses of Victorian and Georgian eras as well as buildings that predate the Great Fire of London (in 1666) like Westminster Abbey and The Tower of London. Tower of London is the place of interest where you will discover histories of a royal palace, an armory and a zoo. Historical performances and re-enactments bring stories of the Tower and its famous prisoners to life.
There are also modern constructions such as the London Eye and the famous 30 St Mary Axe (also known as The Gherkin).
What is there for children?
There are many things to do in London for families with children such as visiting LEGOLAND, a Theme park, situated in Windsor.
You can also visit Natural History Museum with its infamous collection of ancient artefacts; many interactive displays/games make the visit very enjoyable and entertaining as well as very informative.
June is probably women's favourite month of the year since sales are everywhere - starting from little shops to big stores like Selfridges and Harrods and big chain stores like Adidas and French Connection UK. So… if your family has a couple of fashion-mad females - this is 'the' month to visit the UK!
Don't forget to visit BFI IMAX cinema near Waterloo - the largest cinema in the UK; this is a unique opportunity to be 'in the picture'. The movies are in 3D and displayed on a screen which is 20 by 26 metres.
